The Mediterranean Diet

Eat like a Greek—the best diet ever

The superpower of the Mediterranean lifestyle for health and happiness is the key to longevity. The people in countries like Greece and Italy have been eating like this for centuries. Their quality of life and health have been proven to be better compared to many people from other countries because of this way of life. There might be plenty of factors for this, but a big component is the Mediterranean diet. It consists of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, and plenty of extra-virgin olive oil. Now with respect to what types of fruits and vegetables to get, do what most Greeks do….eat what is in season. This is done for two reasons. First, it is going to be cheaper since it is in season. Second, eating in-season produce is said to enhance its health benefits. Never eat anything processed. There is no way around this one.
